How to add an Indirect Beneficial Owner

Learn how to add an Indirect Beneficial Owner (BO) to an Entity profile in SILO. Unlike direct Beneficial Owners, indirect Beneficial Owners are connected through the Other Connections section, ensuring the full ownership structure is accurately recorded.

To begin, locate the **Entity profile** you want to set up a Beneficial Owner for.

Click **Profiles → Search Profiles**.\ Enter the entity name or Profile ID in the search bar, then click the **hyperlinked Profile ID** to open the profile

Navigate to the **Connections** tab.

Click **Edit**.

An Indirect Beneficial Owner must be added in the "Other Connections" Table and the bottom of the page.

Search for and select the profile you want to connect as a Beneficial Owner

In the **Create Connection** pop up, complete as many fields as possible to ensure a complete and accurate record. **Tick the Beneficial Owner check box.** This will ensure records are correctly populated in the Beneficial Ownership Register and Report. **Role** - Select UBO (Indirect) or similar wording to match your configurable settings. **Date Became** and **Reason for BO** are key fields. Click **Create**

Click **Save** at the top of the page to ensure the connection is fully recorded.

Once saved, the Beneficial Owners table will automatically update with the new entry, pulling through key information such as identification and address details.
