Bulk Add/Create Project Members

Admins can add users to a project in bulk. The same tool will automatically create new accounts for users that don't have one yet.

If this tool doesn't fit your needs, you can also consider creating a new account using the [Register page](https://languagedepot.org/register). Whenever possible, it's recommended that users create their accounts themselves. This has **many advantages**: - It encourages users to **take ownership** of their account - Users can choose a **secure password** that only they know - Users can immediately **verify** their email address, which gives them **permission** to: - Be promoted to project **Manager** - Request projects - Having a verified email address also allows - A user to **reset their password** themselves - Us to **contact** the user if necessary - It enables the user to use **new features** we add to the website. For example: - It will soon be possible to **view the entries** of some FLEx projects directly on the website - It will eventually be possible to **download/clone** a new project into FLEx by simply **clicking a button** on the website

Select a project on your dashboard

Click "Bulk Add/Create Members"

Enter a password to use for any new accounts that are created.

Notice the color bar below the password field, indicating the approximate strength of the password. It's up to you to decide how strong you want the password to be. However, eventually, we will impose **restrictions** on users who have a **weak password** (e.g. they will not be allowed to be project managers). In fact, we **always** consider passwords entered here to be **weak**, because **shared passwords** are inherently more vulnerable.

Enter the login or email address of each user you want to add to the project.

Whatever you enter here will be the user's **Send/Receive login**. If you're ever unsure what a user's Send/Receive login is, you can click on them (either on the admin dashboard or on a project page) to view their user details. They can use either their email address or their login for Send/Receive (some users have both, **some only have one or the other**).

Click "Add/Create Members"

🎉 The members have all been added to the project. We'll let you know exactly what happened.

Note that new members are always added as project **Editors**. A user can only be a project **Manager** if they have a verified email address.

Click "Close"

You can see all the member in the project by clicking "Show all..." (if they don't all fit)
