Create a Seating Chart in Aristotle

In a satellite classroom with fixed PCs, teachers can set up their seating chart to mirror the actual classroom set-up. Satellite teachers have only one Aristotle class because the same "enrolled devices" are used every period. Seating Charts work w/ MC & Atrium Chromebooks, but are created for each course. The seating charts work the same in all locations, only set-up is a little different. Satellites drag and drop device names and Main & Atrium drag and drop student names.

Go to your Aristotle dashboard by navigating to <https://warrenco.aristotleinsight.com/Educator/Dashboard>

Click the **"Open Classroom"** button for the class you want to create a seating chart.

The default view is the **"Row"** view. Like the name indicates, all students in the class are viewable and in rows and it's random where they show up on the screen.

To create a seating chart, click the **"Lock"** icon.

Once the lock is open, teachers may make seating charts. To construct a seating chart with seats (aka screen views) all the same size, click the **"Waffle"** icon. To incorporate differently sized screens in the seating chart, choose the symbol to the right of the waffle. This is a great strategy for students who are regularly off-task.

Using the rows & columns dropdown boxes, customize the seating chart to mirror the actual seating of the classroom.

**Tip!** During this process, teachers will want to decide whether they want to include rows between devices. Rows can make it more user friendly!

**Satellite teachers** drag and drop the devices in the new seating chart according to each device's number for their one class. **Hot Tip:** This is super fast with two people. It's a great idea to have another person walk around the room and call out the device numbers and have the other drag and drop the device names into the corresponding spots. **Main Campus & Atrium teachers** drag and drop student names in the new seating chart for each class.

The process of dragging & dropping the device or student names continues until all of the computers in use or all active students are displayed on the seating chart. Any devices or students not on the seating chart will be hidden.

Click the **"Lock"** icon to save the new seating chart.

Once the **"Lock"** is clicked, the screen will mirror devices and students in the same position as the seating chart.
