Getting Started with FarmCommand

Thank you for choosing Farmers Edge as your trusted partner in precision agriculture! Our goal is to help you make data-driven decisions in an efficient and timely manner. To achieve this goal, our online platform, FarmCommand, gives you access to the tools and information crucial to your operation. In this page, I will walk through a couple steps and a few guides to get you setup and started with FarmCommand.

First, the online portal can be found by going to www.FarmCommand.com

Your login should be provided to you by email from a member of Farmers Edge

FarmCommand starts with metric units when the account is first created, you can change this by following this guide:

Next, we will need to build the grower, farm, field structure in FarmCommand so that we can start viewing field data, satellite imagery, making recommendations, and much more.

The first step will be to create growers and farms. Use this guide to get started adding your growers and farms:

Next, borders must be added to these fields & subfields. There are two methods to get field borders into FarmCommand: you can either draw them using satellite imagery as a reference or upload border shapefiles from another program. Here are the guides for both:

Once field borders are in FarmCommand, we can upload any field data, such as planting or harvest to process into those borders. Use this guide to integrate with one of your current data providers (JD Ops, Climate, AFS Connect etc.).

If you have not integrated you can manually upload any data using this guide.

Keep in mind, field data and satellite imagery process overnight, so the map will update the following day after you create a border or upload the data.

Now, we'll move onto adding a weather station to your favorites. This allows you to easily bring up the station and view its forecast and historical weather:
