How To Create (or Assign) Goals

This guide shows you how to create a goal for yourself and/or create a goal for one or more of your direct reports.

Go to <https://cornerstone.ou.edu/>and then click the "Navigation Menu"

Click "Performance" and then click "Goals"

Create a Goal

Click "Create"

Click in the "Goal Statement" text box to add the name of the goal.

(Optional) Click in the "Description" text box to add additional details about the goal.

Tip! The "End Date" determines when the goal will be evaluated. For example, a goal ending on 10/31/2024 would be evaluated on the CY2024 Performance Review, while a goal ending on 1/14/2025 would be evaluated on the CY2025 Performance Review.

Click the calendar icon to select the "State Date" and "End Date".

Alert! If you are creating this goal for yourself and you do not want to add a task, skip to Step 14.

Add a Task(s) to the Goal (Optional)

Click "Add Tasks" Tasks are a way to break down the goal into smaller pieces with individual due dates for each task.

Click in the "Description" text box to add the name of the task and any additional details about the task.

Click on the calendar icon to add a "Start Date" and "End Date" for this specific task.

To finish adding the task, click "Done"

Alert! If you are creating this goal for yourself and do not want to assign the goal to one or more of your direct reports, skip to Step 14.

Assign a Goal to a Direct Report (Optional)

Click icon next to "Your team"

Click the checkbox next to the employee(s) that you want to assign this goal.

NOTE: If an employee is a manager, you can also assign the goal to all of their direct reports by clicking the checkbox on the right-hand column.

Final Step - Submit

Click "Submit"
