How to Assign a Diagnostic

Navigate to [https://edia.app/](https://edia.app/)

Click "Assign"

Click "Diagnostic"

Click the "Title" field.

Name your diagnostic according to the following convention \[Course Name\] \[Fall/Winter/Spring\] Diagnostic (e.g. Algebra I Winter Diagnostic)

Click "Assign to"

Select all classes you intend to give this diagnostic to. If you teach multiple sections of the same course, you should select all sections at this time. You can adjust the post/due date at the section level.

Click on the post date to adjust the day the diagnostic will post for your students.

Choose the post date from the calendar.

Click on the time to adjust the post time.

Click the time you would like students to access the diagnostic (you can choose from the dropdown or enter a specific time if your assessment will begin outside of the times listed (e.g. 2:38p)

Click to adjust the due date.

Choose the due date from the calendar.

Select the time you would like the diagnostic to end. Students will not have access to the diagnostic after this time.

Choose or type the time.

Click "Save changes"

Select your subject from the dropdown menu

Click on your subject area.

Click "Length"

Click "Comprehensive (20-30 questions)"

Click on settings.

Adjust any settings (late work/calculator) as advised by your administrator.

Click "Anti-cheating features"

Toggle on "Require password to open"

Enter a password for your students.

*Reminder* in the diagnostic, students can select "I don't know(Skip)". Please make sure students are aware this is different than pressing "Skip" in a practice assignment. In a diagnostic, if a student presses "Skip" they will no see that problem type again.

If you would like to preview the diagnostic, click "Student preview"

Click "Start"

After reviewing, Click the x in the top left corner to exit Student Preview.

Click "Post"

Your diagnostic is now posted for the students in you class(es).
