How To Respond To A University Offer

Learn how to manage your university admission status through the applicant portal. This guide walks you through the steps to accept, decline, or defer your offer and submit your final decision.

Navigate to the [UNSW Applicant Portal](https://apply.unsw.edu.au) to accept an offer. Select **Login/Register**.

Type the email address that is associated with your application and select **Next**. If your email address has changed since you made your application contact our student support team.

Note that the portal also allows you to log in via a Google or Microsoft account. If you use this option go to Step 5.

Enter your password and select **Sign in**.

Here we can see that the status is **Unconditional Offer**. Select the Actions dropdown to **Respond to Offer**.

Your **Application Summary** is detailed.

Scrolling you can see other summary details.

You can view the offer letter, and **Accept**, **Decline**, or **Defer** the offer.

Select Yes or No to indicate whether a COE is required. Here, we select **Yes**.

**Additional documents** can be uploaded by dragging and dropping files.

Now that all the outstanding documents have been provided, the offer can be accepted. Note that the applicant can also select to **Defer** or **Decline** the offer. See steps 16 and 17 for these options.

Read the UNSW Privacy Statement and then select the checkbox for acknowledging you have read it. Enter your full name to indicate agreement with the conditions. Select **Accept Offer**.

Select the method of payment with UNSW **Online Payments**.

Once the payment has been finalised, the Application Summary field is updated, indicating an acceptance of the offer.

The Response to Offer section marks the Response as **Accepted**.

**DECLINE OFFER:** If declining the offer, you will select a reason for the decline and then select **Decline Offer**.

**DEFER OFFER:** If deferring an offer, you will choose a reason for deferment and select a new intake. Then select **Defer Offer**.
