Create a New User

This guide shows a quick, step-by-step process to create a new commercial card user, set their role and password, enter required user details (including the specific cardholder-number format), and locate and assign a card using portal filters. Follow it to avoid data-entry errors, ensure the card auto-assigns when identifiers match, and speed up onboarding.

Begin by logging into the Commercial Card Portal and selecting **Security** from the top navigation menu.

Select **Users** from the **Security** dropdown.

Click the **Create** button to add a new user.

In the *Username* field, enter a username for the new user.

Next, choose the user's from the **Roles** dropdown list.

Next, select how to generate a password for the new user by checking one of the boxes shown here

Next, click the *User Information* tab to expand.

Enter the user information shown here.

**Tip:** When entering the cardholder number enter the cardholder’s five leading zeros followed by the four unique digits. If the number matches the unique identifier used during card ordering, the system will automatically assign the card to the new user.

Next, click **Assign Cards** to expand.

Click the **Find** button to search for a card by hierarchy.

Choose one of these radio buttons to filter card options further.

Click the **Category** dropdown to search for a card by category.

Select a category from the **Category** dropdown list.

Click the **Save** button to view card options to assign.

Select a commercial card from the list to assign to the new user.

Select the **Save** button to save the settings.
