How To Manage Comparison Tool Content

Learn how to organize your benefits comparison data by creating custom topics, subjects, and groups. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for configuring plan details and managing group categories within the tool.

Select the ellipses nested in the webpart header and **click 'Manage' Content'** or if you're just getting started, click **'Manage Content'** in the webpart.** ***Note: If you have chosen to hide the webpart header, the manage button will be visible above the webpart.***

This will open the **Manage Content form.** We've included a helpful **"How it works"** section to help understand the difference between **Topics, Groups, and Subjects**: - **Topics** are the rows in your comparison table. Each topic represents a category or feature you want to compare across subjects (e.g. "Coverage", "Cost", "Eligibility"). - **Groups** let you organize subjects into categories. Subjects can belong to multiple groups, and users can filter the comparison view by group. - **Subjects** are the columns in your comparison table. Each subject represents an item being compared (e.g. "Plan A", "Plan B"). Add details to each subject for every topic.

Adding Comparison Topics

Comparison **Topics** are the rows in your comparison table. Each topic represents a category or feature you want to compare across subjects (e.g. "Coverage", "Cost", "Eligibility").

To start, let's add your first Comparison **Topic**!

You'll give your Comparison Topic a **Title**, select an **Icon**, and choose an **Icon Color**. When you have finished filling in all the required fields for your new Topic, be sure to **hit 'Create' to save!**

Once created, you’ll be taken back to the **Topics** tab. Here, you’ll see your newly created topic and have the option to edit existing topics or create additional ones.

Adding Comparison Subjects & Details

Comparison **Subjects** are the columns in your comparison table. Each subject represents an item being compared (e.g. "Plan A", "Plan B"). Add details to each subject for every topic.

Now let's skip over to the **Subjects** tab to create your first Subject! Click "**Add Subject**".

You'll fill out the following details for your Comparison Subject: - **Default Comparison Subject?** - If enabled, this will make this Subject the primary/static subject being compared in the Comparison table. Note: You can only have one default subject. - **Comparison Subject Title** - **Last Updated** - this date is optional and will be displayed in the table. - **Display Photo Results** - choose between Icon and Image. - **Icon** - browse through the catalog of Icons and select the one you would like to use. - **Logo/Image** - upload the logo or image you would like to use. - Recommended image size: 200x100 pixels. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, SVG. Max file size: 2MB. When you have finished filling in all the required fields for your new Subject, be sure to **hit 'Create' to save!**

Once created, you’ll be taken back to the **Subjects** tab. Here, you’ll see your newly created Subject and have the option to edit existing Subjects or create additional ones.

Your Comparison **Details** are the specific details you are comparing for each Subject and each Topic.

Time to add some **Details** for your Comparison Subjects! Click "**Edit Details**" on the corresponding Comparison Subject.

Here, you’ll see the Subject you’re adding Details for (you can also edit it from here, simply click the pencil icon beside the subject name). Below the Subject, each Topic you’ve created will be listed. For every Topic, you’ll have the opportunity to add Comparison Details. To do this, enter a **Detail Title** and a **Detail Summary**. Once you’ve finished filling in all required fields for your new Subject, be sure to **click “Save All” to save your changes.**

Once created, you’ll be taken back to the **Subjects** tab. Here, you’ll see that the progress bar for each Subject has been updated to reflect the new Comparison Details you added. You’ll also have the option to edit existing Details or create additional ones.

Adding Comparison Groups

**Groups** let you organize subjects into categories. Subjects can belong to multiple groups, and users can filter the comparison view by group. ***Note****: groups are optional and are not necessary for webpart set up.*

Now let's create some Comparison **Groups**. Hop over to the **Groups** tab to create your first Group! Click "**Add Group**".

To start, you will need to enter a **Group Name**. Then click "**Create**".

Once the Group is created, you'll then click "**Manage**" to add Comparison Subjects to each group.

In the dropdown, you'll see all created Comparison Subject listed. Select the subjects you would like to combine into groups for each comparison!

Once you’ve finished adding Subjects to your Comparison Group, be sure to **click “Save” to save your changes.** ***Note:*** *you can also set the Group as the default and this will make it the primary/default comparison in the table.*

Once created, you’ll then be able to manage each Group.
