This guide provides a step-by-step approach to completing your CPD Plan for 2026, ensuring you meet essential professional development requirements. By following this guide, you can effectively navigate the RACS platform, enhance your skills, and fulfill your CPD obligations, ultimately supporting your growth as a medical professional.

Head to the RACS website. Make sure you're logged in using your RACS username and password.

Using your mouse, hover over your name in the top right corner of the webpage. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on My CPD

You will be taken to your CPD Dashboard. From here you will be able to see the different sections of your CPD for the year. First, ensure that you are in the CPD year for 2026. If there is no option for 2026, it means you are either 1) not enrolled for 2026 or 2) have not completed your 2025 CPD. If you are a RACS Fellow, you will automatically be enrolled in the CPD program, and most likely have not yet finalised your 2025 CPD. If you have completed, finalised and recieved your certificate for your 2025 CPD, you may need to renew your CPD subscription for 2026 in your Portfolio.

Here we can see that the CPD Plan is orange, and 'in progress', yours may say 'outstanding'.

To begin editing your learning plan, click "View/Edit Plan"

To begin, select your areas of specialty.

Click on the competencies that you think are most in line with your CPD plan.

Now it's time for learning goals. Write at least three learning goals that you had at the beginning of 2026 that relate to your practice. You need to write at least 100 characters in each text box.

Health and Wellbeing is important, step 4 asks for you to consider what activities you have planned for the year to maintain your worklife balance.

Professionalism, addressing health Inequities, professionalism and Ethical Practice are all standards of CAPE, which were introduced as required competencies from 2025. In this text box, write about activities you plan on doing to meet these requirements in 2026.

Part of the CPD plan is completing a structured conversation with a peer or colleague once a year. This can include a performance review from your Head of Department or more informal discussions with a colleague regarding your skills, goals and practicing. If you have completed this, tick "yes".

Now we are at review and reflection. This is usually completed at the end of the year. Based on your previous learning goals, outline what you have achieved or may not achieved, and if not, what might help you meet your goals in the future?

Next, reflect on how your CPD activities for the year has supported your learning on cultral safety and health inequities.

Then, reflect on how your CPD has supported your learning on professionalism and ethical practice.

Finally, reflect on how your CPD has helped you to maintain your health and wellbeing this year.

If you would like to attach any files, you can do so by clicking 'Add File'.

Finally, ensuring you have written in every textbox, go to the bottom of the screen and click 'save and close' in the bottom right.

You'll then recieve a pop-up confirming if you wish to save your learning plan.

Click "Yes"

Finally, now we can see that our goals and reflections in our learning plan are complete, symbolised by the green ticks.
