How to Add a CPD Activity 2026

This guide provides a straightforward process for adding Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities on the RACS website, ensuring that you can efficiently track your professional growth. By following this guide, you can ensure compliance with verification requirements and maintain an accurate record of your CPD activities.

Head to the RACS website. Make sure you're logged in using your RACS username and password.

Using your mouse, hover over your name in the top right corner of the webpage. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on My CPD

First, ensure that you are in the correct CPD period you are wanting to report your activity in

Next, Click 'Add Activity'

Now, select the drop down menu and select the activity that you would like to record. I'll select Journal reading.

Once you've selected your activity, the CPD Dashboard may autofill the rest of the information such as the category, competencies, date and hours. You can edit them to be different as shown through this guide.

To change the category, select the drop-down and select the category you would like to record the activity under.

Click whichever competencies you think most align with the activity you are reporting.

CAPE requirements are now recorded here, as a seperate section. Click whichever CAPE competency might relate to your activity.

You can edit the activity so that it is recurring, however, keep in mind that the CPD Dashboard will automatically populate the activity to it's maximum capped hours. Even if an activity you are reporting is recurring, such as M&M meetings or journal club, you do not have to report it as recurring. Instead you can report the maximum hours for the activity, and state in the description that it is a recurring activity.

Feel free to edit the hours to reflect the activity you completed.

You are welcome to add in a description of the activity you are reporting, such as which journal you read, which conference you attended or hospital you visited. Information such as this is required for participants under verification.

You are also able to upload supporting documentation that corresponds with the activity you are reporting. This is helpful for members who are selected for verification.

Finally, once you are satisfied with the information descripting your activity, click 'Save' in the bottom right corner.

You will then be taken back to your CPD Dashboard.

You can confirm your activity has been recorded by going to 'My Activities' on the right.

Here, you will be able to view all activities that have been reported for that CPD year.
