General Settings Page

Core Leaders within each Troop will want to navigate to the Troop's 'General Settings' page to check a variety of settings. Any of these leaders can expand "Troop Settings" on the left menu, then click "General Settings"

Find a Troop Map Settings

The section for 'Troop Meeting Location' will reflect the physical address where the Troop meets, and will add this location as a map pin on the Find a Troop map to assist prospective members looking for a local Troop. Additional information which can appear, if desired, when a prospective member clicks the Troop's map pin at [findatroop.com](https://findatroop.com) are: - A website link for the Troop - A Facebook, or social media, page link for the Troop - A brief Troop overview to let interested individuals know some basics about your Troop

In the next section, select which day(s) the Troop meets, how often, and the meeting start and end times. Then choose whether to display these meeting days & times on the Find a Troop map.

Further down the page, under the section for 'Troop Support & Find a Troop,' select the Troop's current status for accepting new members. This will inform interested families if there is currently room to join, if the Troop has a waitlist, if the Troop is at capacity, etc. An additional field in this section allows for specifying which leaders will be points of contact for inquiries that come in to the Member Prospects tool. The names listed here will receive the initial inquiry email when a prospective member submits an interest form. (Other Core Leaders in the Troop will also receive reminder emails if prospective members haven't been contacted for lengthy periods of time.)

After making any changes to any of the sections above, be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page to click the **Update** button to save the changes.

Separate, Customized Connect Form

Also on the 'General Settings' page, below the section for 'Troop Support & Find a Troop' is an option for the Troop to configure its own, dedicated contact form which can be embedded and used in conjunction with other sites (such as a Church website.) More information on using this custom contact form can be found in a separate [Guide](https://scribehow.com/shared/Custom_Member_Prospect_Connect_Form_Settings__Zq9IjYFmSo6FOmqtgzB5sw) on the 'TLC Help Documentation' page under the "Help" menu.

Member Prospects Tool

When interested, prospective Troop members visit the Find a Troop map, they will have the opportunity to fill out a short form and submit to the Troop expressing their interest. These potential members will be captured within the Member Prospects tool in Trail Life Connect. To access this tool, either click the **Member Prospects** button on the Dashboard, or expand "My Troop" on the left menu and select "Member Prospects."

All prospective members will be available on the Prospects page, where communication can occur until they choose to join or not join and the prospect record is closed. Search and filter options are available under most column headers, allowing for refinement of the results where needed. More information about using the Member Prospects tool can be found in a separate [Guide](https://scribehow.com/shared/Member_Prospects__Updating_Prospect_Status_in_TLC__0LSTr5HkS06MdzLza-g_4g) on the 'TLC Help Documentation' page under the "Help" menu.
