IRB Guide: Completing an IRB Submission

Doubleclick

Navigate to <https://nmu.edu/sponsoredprograms/>

Click "Cayuse" in the Quick Links

Click "ACCESS CAYUSE"

Click "LOGIN" on your NMU Single Sign-On

Click Products

Click Human Ethics

Make sure "Researcher" is selected; if the option is not available, skip to the next step.

Click "New Study"

Type your study title and click on ckeckmark

Click "New Submission"

Click "Initial"

To move forward, either: 1) Click Edit

or 2) Click "Assign PI"

Read the Submission Information, and click "Agree" (this will open up a menu of sections on the left)

Answer questions throughout (red star = required response)

In "Type of Review," be sure you click the type of review and...

... the specific explanation for choosing that type.

In the Attachments, add any attachments not already uploaded. When you have uploaded all documents and answered all required questions, all the Sections in the blue bar on the left of the screen should have checkmarks. You are ready to submit - click "Routing."

Click "Complete Submission" and confirm. \ You will receive an email from Cayuse asking you to certify your application.

To certify your submission, access Cayuse, navigate to the Human Ethics section (see Step #6 above) and click the link to the submission you wish to certify.

You can review the submission by clicking "View" or ...

... by clicking "PDF" and then "Submission" to get a complete PDF

Once you have confirmed the submission is complete, click "Certify" and then "Confirm"
