Creating and Using Artifacts Using AmplifyAI

This guide explains how AmplifyAI turns certain AI outputs (documents, code, graphics, etc.) into separate, viewable Artifacts and how to open them alongside the conversation. It shows when and how to create an Artifact manually, where Artifacts and their version info appear, and how to use the context-sensitive toolbars for Artifact and response actions. Follow it to manage, view, and interact with AI-generated deliverables efficiently.

Turning Artifacts ON in Account Settings

**First make sure Artifacts have been turned on in your account settings.** Select your profile circle in the upper-right corner to open account options. You can choose a theme and color scheme, review sharing and data options, view user-cost information, open Settings, send feedback, or sign out. The High Contrast color scheme is available for users who prefer stronger contrast.

Click "Settings"

Open "Configurations" and scroll down to "Features." Toggle ON the "Artifacts" checkbox.

Click "Save."

Understanding Answers and Artifacts

A normal answer appears in the conversation. When the model creates a viewable document, code project, paper, graphic, HTML page, or similar item, AmplifyAI may also create an Artifact. Select the colored artifact card to open it in the right-hand panel. The conversation remains on the left and the artifact appears on the right, with its title and version at the bottom.

Creating an Artifact

If you're happy with the AI output, and if it didn't automatically create an artifact, you can click the double paper button to create an artifact. The menu will pop up next to the output when you're looking at it.

Artifact Toolbar

The vertical toolbar on the far right changes with the artifact type and enabled features. In the current interface, the visible icons represent the actions below. Hover over an icon to confirm its tooltip before selecting it, **especially after a product update.**

**Tip!** - **Copy Artifact** Choose formatted content when pasting into a document, or Markdown when you need plain text with formatting notation. - **Download the Artifact** Choose Text, Markdown, or Word. Downloading creates a file for use outside Amplify AI. - **Save and reuse** Save Artifact keeps your work in Amplify AI. Upload Artifact to Amplify File Manager makes it available through the file tools. These actions serve different purposes from downloading. - **Share or delete carefully** Review the content and recipients before Email or Share. Delete this Version removes the selected artifact version, so confirm that it is the one you intend to remove.

The response toolbar will be to the right of the AI's response in your chat.
