Add a New Event

Go to <https://pugwashestuary.com/wp-admin>and sign in.

This will redirect you to your WordPress dashboard.

Click the image under "New Event" or Hover over "Events" in the left side menu and click "Add New Event".

Add the event title in the event title field. Add a description of the event in the description field.

Add the date and time details for the event.

Select the location by clicking the "Venue" dropdown and either selecting an existing option, or typing a new option and hitting Enter/Return, then completing the address details. Any venues added will be saved for future use.

Add the organizers by clicking the dropdown and selecting the organizers or typing and hitting Enter/Return to add a new organizer.

If the event has a specific website (besides the event page we are creating right now) you can enter the URL here.

If you would like to create an RSVP for this event, click "New RSVP".

Tip: You can also sell tickets to your events in a similar way to RSVP - the difference being that tickets involve payment. Enter a name and description for the RSVP.

Complete the remainder of the fields: Set a start and end date for RSVP to be available. Set the capacity of the event (or leave blank if there is no capacity), and select whether you want to allow a "Can't go" response.

Click "Save RSVP" when you are done entering the RSVP details.

You'll note that you can edit or delete this RSVP, or even add more RSVP options if you'd like (for example if you have two activities for an event and want to have separate RSVPs). You can also click "Attendees" to go directly to view the event attendees who have RSVP'd later on.

Add an excerpt if desired. This would display on the events listing page if added. If nothing is added here, the first portion of the event description would display instead.

Add a category - if you would like to categorize your events, you can add a category here.

You also have other event options that you can select: - Hide from event listings would hide the event from visitors seeing it on the front end of the site. - Sticky in month view would make sure this event is always visible in month view - since month view is set to only display a maximum of three events on one day, this would ensure this event is at the top. - Feature event would display more prominently on the event listings page.

If your event needs to be postponed or cancelled, you can also change that status from here. This would allow you to update visitors of the change.

Click "Set Featured Image" to set a featured image for your event. This will be the image that displays in the event listings and the individual event page.

Click "Upload files" to add a photo that has not already been uploaded to the site and then select the photo from your computer. Or select an existing photo and click "Set featured image".

Once you have entered all of your event details, click "Publish" to make the event live. You can also click "Save Draft" if you want to save it as a draft and not have it visible on the front end of the website yet. You can set the publish date as well, in a similar way to posts.

Edit Events

Hover over "Events" in the left side bar and click "Events".

Find the event you wish to edit and click on the event title.

Make your edits and then click "Update" to update the event.

Quick Edit

On the event listings page, hover over the event you wish to quick edit and click "Quick Edit".

Complete your edits and click "Update", or "Cancel" to discard your changes.

Delete an Event

On the event listings page, hover over the event your wish to delete and click "Trash".

Recover Deleted Event

On the event listings page, click "Trash".

Hover over the event you wish to restore and click "Restore". The event will now return to the event listings page as a draft and must be republished to be live on the site again.

Tickets & RSVPs

To view purchased tickets, hover over "Tickets" and click "All Tickets". You will be able to see a list of purchased tickets for any events that you have enabled them for. To see who has RSVP'd to your events, hover over "Tickets" and click "Attendees". This will display any RSVP's you've received for an event for which RSVPs were enabled. You can manage the RSVPs here in a similar way to posts and events.

If you would like to print or export a list of RSVPs, click "Print" or "Export". This will print or export a spreadsheet with all of the RSVP data that you can use if you will not have internet access to the site while at the event.
