Create/Update A Group In Mobile Commons

This guide provides a-by-step process for creating and managing groups within Mobile Commons. It covers everything from naming the group to subscribing it to a campaign. Click "Groups"

Click "NEW GROUP"

Click the "Name *" field.

Type "EXAMPLE Local 3212 FNG Afternoon Shift"

Click this radio button.

Click "NEXT"

If you're uploading more profiles to an existing group > Search for group name > click on the group > Click "Upload more profiles"

Either download the Sample .CSV file and paste the values of into the sample, resave it with a proper file name, example: "2025-02-14-local-3212-bargaining-updates-flex-n-gate-afternoon-shift-only". Or, simply paste in the phone numbers in the second box, one phone number per line(this is only recommended if you need to quickly import opt ins. Uploading a CSV allows you to more information, which is best practice). Then, click "PREVIEW" and make sure the data gave you no errors. Then click "CREATE"

Alert! In the sample file when copy/pasting your fields, Mobile Commons looks for the opt-in field called "txt opt in" for a value of "1" on any row of people you want to opt-in to receiving text messages. Be sure to enter a "1" in the fields of the "txt opt in" column of those you are opting-in.

Click "Actions"

Click "Subscribe to Campaign"

Click "Select a Campaign"

Type The name of the campaign. In this Example "UAW Local 3212 - Flex N Gate"

Click here.

Click "SUBSCRIBE"

Tip! If you want to target this group only in a text message, select it under the "+GROUPS" button, instead of the checkbox at the top.

Click "+"

Click the "Search" field.

Type "FNG" or whatever keyword the group contains, and select it.
