How to Create a Timeline Chart in Excel

Microsoft Excel

Source Data Setup

Click cell B9 in the source data table.

Press [[CTRL]] + [[A]] to select all your data.

PivotTable Creation

Press [[ALT]] then [[N V T]] to insert PivotTable.

Select cell F8 as the PivotTable location/destination.

Select the Existing Worksheet placement option.

Click "OK"

Drag the **Project Type** field to the *Rows* area.

Drag the **Revenue** field to the *Values* area.

Click "Close pane"

Timeline Filtering

Click "F8"

Press [[ALT]] then [[N S T]] to insert Timeline.

Click **Project Date**, then click OK.

Click "F4"

Click "Project Date"

Click "E9"
