How to Register Natural Service Births & Order DNA

Learn how to accurately record new animal births, select specific DNA testing options, and finalize your registration through the Grassroots portal. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough of the submission process to ensure your breeding records are correctly processed.

Initial Navigation

Navigate to [https://farmers.grassroots.co.uk/Home/00595](https://farmers.grassroots.co.uk/Home/00595)

Click menu icon to open navigation sidebar.

Click "Births"

First Birth Entry

Click 'Date of Birth' field.

Select birth date from calendar or manually enter the date.

Click "Select a Male"

Click on the sire.

If the sire is not on your list, click 'Search All Males.'

Click the box next to 'Show Dead Males' to include all rams.

Enter a search term, such as the flock prefix, animal name, registration number, tag number, or BDI number. Click 'Search.'

Select the sire from the list of rams.

Click "Select a Female:"

Click on the dam.

Set 'Number Born' to match the litter size.

Set 'Log Now' to the number of lambs you wish to record.

Click "Next"

Select the correct gender for the lamb.

Enter the USDA Tag Number. **PLEASE NOTE:** You should see a string of characters to the left of the field that matches your USDA Flock ID. If so, you only need to enter the last half of characters printed on your animal's tag. These usually appear below your Flock ID. If you do not see your USDA Flock ID, enter the entire USDA Scrapie Tag number with no dashes, slashes, or hyphens. If you do not have a USDA Flock ID, call 1-866-USDA-Tag (866-873-2824) to obtain one and send that number to [crystal@legacyregistries.com](https://mailto:crystal@legacyregistries.com).

Enter the animal's name.

Select the correct color for your animal.

Select the correct Application Type.

Select the correct DNA profile.

Select the sample type you will use to collect DNA. If you already have a Flock54 report, select "I'll submit a F54 report" and email the original Excel file to [crystal@legacyregistries.com](https://mailto:crystal@legacyregistries.com).

Click "Add To List"

Second Birth Entry

If you wish to enter another birth, click "Enter Another Birth"

Click "Add To List"

Submission and Confirmation

Click "Next"

Check declaration box to accept Terms and Conditions.

Click "Submit"

Payment and Checkout

Click the basket icon to navigate to your shopping cart.

Click "Pay By Card"

Complete the payment.
