How to Activate Your RingCentral Account and Apps

This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough for activating your newly created Ringcentral account and apps. Follow these steps to manage extension settings, microphone access, and browser notifications to ensure a successful sign-in process.

Account Activation and Setup

Navigate to your Gmail inbox. Locate and open an email from **support@ringcentral.com** with the subject "You have been added to your company's RingCentral business phone system". Click "**Express Setup**" in the RingCentral welcome email to begin configuration.

If the activation link in your email has expired, Click "Resend Activation Email" and the system will send you a new email message. The new message can take 2-5 minutes to be generated and sent to you.

Click "**Google**" on the RingCentral account portal to sign in with your **lacrossesd.org** Google account.

Create and confirm a secure password for your account.

Create and confirm a personal PIN for your account.

Click "Activate my account" to finalize the initial setup process. If you wish to setup the ***optional*** RingCentral Chrome Extension or Mac app, select the corresponding topic from the list of sections on the left side of this window.

Chrome Extension Installation

Click "Install RingCentral for Google Chrome Extension" from the welcome email.

The RingCentral for Google extension is available at this link that will open in the Chrome Web Store. <https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/fddhonoimfhgiopglkiokmofecgdiedb?utm_source=item-share-cb>

Click "Add to Chrome" in the Google Chrome Web Store. Then click "Add extension" to confirm the installation.

Close the added extension notification.

Click "Sign In" within the RingCentral extension popup window.

Select your Google account to authorize the extension.

Review and accept the required permissions for the extension.

Click "I Accept" for the Emergency Calling registered address notice. If your phone number has not been ported over to RingCentral, you will see your temporary number in this window.

Re-enable the extension if it requires additional permissions after an update.

Allow the extension to access your microphone for calls.

Configure where you want the Quick Access icon to appear. Select the Finish Setting button to continue. This setting can be changed as needed by you once the extension is installed.

Desktop Application Installation

Quit or Minimize Google Chrome to prepare for the desktop application installation.

Click "Apps" to open the Application Launcher

Select Manager

Click "My Apps"

Locate the entry for the Ring Central app and select the Install button to begin installing and configuring the Ring Central app for your Mac.

The Ring Central app will open. You can dismiss the "Login Item Added" notification

Select the Allow All button for the Cookie options near the bottom of the window.

Click the Sign In button

Click here to Sign in with your Google account

Select your account on this screen by clicking on it.

When prompted, use the Open RingCentral button to return to the app.

You will be prompted by MacOS to allow access to some system services by RingCentral. When prompted, Click "Open System Settings" to allow these services.

Click "switch" to enable Screen & System Audio Recording for RingCentral.

Click "Quit & Reopen"

When prompted, Select Allow RingCentral to access your device's location.

When prompted, Select Allow RingCentral to access your device's microphone.

When prompted, Select Allow RingCentral to access to Local Network.

Your RingCentral account and Mac app are now configured and installed.
