How to Request a Volunteer Shift Swap

Learn how to navigate your volunteer registration portal to initiate a shift change. This guide provides a simple workflow to request a swap for the NCA 2026 Convention.

Account Sign-In

Go to the SignUpGenius main website, then select **"Log In"** from the top navigation menu.

Log in with your existing account or create a new account using the same email address you signed up with. Then click **"Log in."**

Click "NCA 2026 Convention Volunteer Registration"

Swap Request

Your slot will display three options. Click **"Swap"**, the middle button, for the selected volunteer slot.

Next, you will be able to view all eligible volunteer slots available for swapping. Select the participant and the volunteer slot you would like to request, then proceed with the swap request.

Click REQUEST A SWAP

The REQUEST email will go out. If approved, you will receive an email confirmation.

**Important:** Submitting a swap request does **not** remove you from your volunteer commitment. Until another volunteer has accepted the swap and the change is confirmed in SignUpGenius, you remain responsible for your assigned shift. **The deadline to complete and receive approval for all shift swaps is November 2.** After November 2, volunteers will no longer be able to swap shifts and will be expected to fulfill their scheduled volunteer commitment. If the volunteer you request does not accept the swap, or if you are unable to secure a replacement by the November 2 deadline, you remain responsible for your original shift. It is your responsibility to either: • Secure a confirmed replacement through the SignUpGenius Swap feature by November 2; or\ • Fulfill your originally assigned volunteer shift. Failure to report for a scheduled shift without an approved replacement will be considered a **no-show**. As volunteers receive complimentary convention admission in exchange for their service, no-shows will be charged the applicable convention registration fee and will be ineligible for future volunteer opportunities with the convention. By signing up to volunteer, you acknowledge and agree to these requirements and deadlines.
