Send Messages to Struggling Students

This guide shows a quick way to identify low-performing students in Blackboard and send each a private, personalized message in bulk. It saves time by letting you sort by overall grade, select multiple students at once, and deliver individualized outreach without exposing other recipients.

Wichita

Navigate to [https://blackboard.wichita.edu](https://blackboard.wichita.edu/ultra/courses/_175214_1/outline) and then to your Blackboard course.

Click "Gradebook"

Click the cog icon.

Click "View Course Activity"

Click "Overall Grade" to sort your class by grade, putting the lowest grades at the top of the list.

Click the checkbox next to the name of each student you would like to contact with a custom message.

Click "Send message"

Craft your message. Each student will receive their own version of it, so they will not know the names of the other people who receive it. Once you have crafted the message, click "Send".
