Group Configuration

By default, Nectir will name the group that your bot will exist in as the same name of the course. If you want to change the group name, enter it in the "Name" field.

Groups are not the AI assistant, but the place where your assistant will live. All assistants must be within a group. Groups become useful when you want to share your AI assistant with other instructors.

Select "**Save changes**"

Assistant Creation

Once you've given the group a name, select the "**Create Assistant**" button in the top right corner.

You can chat with the AI Assistant to help set up your bot, or to manually set it up, select the "**Configure**" tab

Assistant Details

Select "**Details**"

Select the "**Name**" field and enter the name of your bot.

In the "**Description**" field, briefly describe what users will use this bot for. This description will be viewable to end users.

\[Optional\] Select an image or icon for your assistant's avatar.

Select "**Save**"

The Assistant itself has now been created for your course.

At this point, the assistant isn't trained on your course material yet. To add specific resources or course material, follow the instructions on [How to Add Knowledge to your Nectir AI Assistant.](https://scribehow.com/page/Getting_Started_with_Nectir_AI__RmdtU3OTSkevrEmEBfSBew?referrer=documents)
