**Before going any further, please review:** To claim a New York Times pass, you need to be able to access your Graduate Center email address. This is the email address that ends in @gradcenter.cuny.edu If you don't know what your graduate center email address is, or have never set this up, please contact us at LP2@gc.cuny.edu

Go to the[**New York Times Digital Pass website**](https://www.nytimes.com/activate-access/digitalpass)

Click "Create Account"

Enter your Graduate Center email address and click "Continue". Next, create a password and click "Create Account".

An email has now been sent to your Graduate Center email address. Click the link within your email to finish setting up your New York Times pass.

If you don’t get the confirmation email, check your spam folder. If you still do not receive it, send an email from your CUNY email account to edu@nytimes.org

Once you have clicked the link from your email, the below page should be visible. Select "Student", and, for graduate year, select the following year from the dropdown menu. Click "Sign Up".

Hooray - you have now set up your free New York Times Pass!

Once you have activated your Academic Pass, you should have full access for 52 weeks (364 days). If you see a message that you are reaching the limit of free articles, you’re probably not logged in. Simply log back in. Please note that your pass does not include print copies, e-reader editions,\ Premium Crosswords, or the NYTimes Crosswords app.
