Recruitment Registration 101

Recruitment Registration 101 is designed to walk you through everything you need to successfully register for fraternity and sorority recruitment. This resource covers each step of the process, including how to film your PNM video, upload your video to Box, generate a shareable link, and correctly paste that link into your registration. You’ll also receive guidance on completing each section of the registration form and learn how to edit or update your information after submission.

Preparing to Register

Before you begin your Panhellenic Recruitment registration, please review the information below to ensure you are fully prepared. The registration system does **not** save your progress, so all materials must be completed and submitted in one sitting. **Before starting the application, please be sure you have the following ready:** - Your **high school transcript** and **college transcript** (if applicable). - Unofficial copies are acceptable. - A **photo** to upload. - A list of your **high school activities and achievements**. - Your **Auburn University ID number** (your unique 90‑digit number). - Your **Auburn University email** (abc1234@auburn.edu). - Your completed **short‑answer responses**, ready for the application. - Your **PNM video**, filmed and uploaded to Box with a **shareable link** ready to submit.

**Important Reminder:** This year, submitting a **PNM video is required** as part of your recruitment application. We strongly recommend filming your video and preparing all materials before beginning the application. All items, including your video link and written responses, must be submitted at the same time.

Short Answer and Video Prompts

Potential members will upload a video introducing themselves to the chapters and answering **ONE** of the following prompts. 1. What is a quality you admire in others that you strive to demonstrate yourself? 2. What do you hope to look back on in four years and say you accomplished at Auburn?

We ask that you keep this video **UNDER ONE MINUTE.** Only submit **ONE** video. Once the video is submitted, it is **FINAL**. You **WILL NOT** be able to submit an application without submitting a video.

Potential New members will answer **TWO** written response questions by selecting one question for Written Response Question 1 and one question for Written Response Question 2 from the options below. Responses should be no longer than **500 words.** 1. What do you hope to gain by going through recruitment? 2. Describe a dream you have for your future and why it matters to you? 3. Describe your core values and what they mean to you. 4. What is something that you have done that you are really proud of?

Video Recording Instructions

**ORIENTATION:** Orient your phone horizontally, like in the picture below. This will ensure your video displays properly on a viewer’s screen no matter if it is a TV, computer or mobile device.

**STABILIZING VIDEO:** There are two good options for keeping your video stable with minimal movement: - Having someone else hold the phone for you so you can focus on what you are saying. This allows that person to focus on the video while you focus on your verbal delivery. - Using a stack of books, a bookend or any other stable item to prop your phone against so it stays steady while you record.

**AUDIO:** For the best audio, record in a quiet setting and stand/sit four feet or closer to your phone. - Try to keep your mouth pointed toward the phone at all times as turning away can significantly lower the volume on the recording. - Ideally, the HVAC system in your location is not running while recording, but sometimes this is unavoidable. - Turn off all radios and televisions in your home while recording. That sound will be audible in the background if they are on during the recording.

**LIGHTING:** Avoid having bright backgrounds behind you. - Avoid bright windows behind you as they will wash you out. Try to face the brightest part of the room. That will serve as the main light source for your video. - Do not rely solely on overhead lighting. This will create dark shadows under your eyes. Try to use windows or lamps in addition to overhead lighting for the best results. - When setting up the shot, take a moment to notice if one side of your face has more shadows than the other. Try to add lighting on the darker side of your face to even it out.

**BACKGROUND:** Pay careful attention to your background. You want to avoid several potential mistakes with your set. - Avoid a cluttered or messy background (clothes on the floor, junk piled up, etc.). - Avoid a distracting background (posters with a lot of words, televisions turned on, etc.). - Avoid a background that is too bright (see the lighting section). - The ideal background is simple. It does not have to be a blank wall, but it should be something that will not take attention away from what you are saying.

**FRAMING:** There is a basic framing rule for video shot composition called the rule of thirds. - Notice the screen is divided into thirds vertically and horizontally. - You should frame your shot so your eyes are on the top horizontal line. This is called the eye line. - Note: the lines will not be there; you will have to approximate this based on your best estimation. - This will help dictate headroom. There should be just a bit of space above your head and plenty of space below your chin. - The picture below demonstrates the ideal framing to use when recording a video from your phone.

Video Uploading Instructions

Navigate to the Auburn University Box Login <https://auburn.box.com>

Authenticate using your Auburn credentials.

Click "New"

Click "File Upload"

Click the platform you would like to upload your video from.

Select your video and confirm to upload the video.

Confirm your video has been uploaded by locating it in your "Files" section.

Select your PNM Video.

Click "More Options".

Click "Rename"

Rename the file to your legal "First Name_Middle Name_Last Name".

Click "Save"

Click "Create and Copy Shared Link".

Select the viewing options "People in your company".

Click "People with the link"

Click the download settings.

Change the download settings to "Can view only".

Copy the shareable link.

How to Register for Recruitment

Click "click here to create an account."

Select "I would like to join a sorority/fraternity".

Select "Sign Up with Auburn University".

Recruitment Registration Home Page

Fill out the Registration with your legal first, middle, and last name as well as other important information.

Be sure that all information is correct before submitting. We will use this information on your PNM name tag. Please make sure your **Auburn email** is correct ([abc1234@auburn.edu](mailto:abc1234@auburn.edu)). This is the email we will send all recruitment updates to.

Enter your parent or guardian's information.

The email you list here is the email we will send the parent updates to.

Enter your resume information directly on the registration.

Auburn Panhellenic **DOES NOT** accept resumes. We only need the information listed on the registration page.

Add all of your T-shirt sizing here.

The deadline to order extra T‑shirts is **July 7.** After that, registration will include one T‑shirt only. Additional shirts will be available for purchase at your Ice Water Tea Brunch and during recruitment week.

Answer the written response questions.

For the Video section, select the Question you answered in your video from the dropdown box.

Click the "Video Link" field.

Paste the link you copied from Box ([Step 28](https://scribehow.com/viewer/How_to_Upload_Your_Ice_Water_Tea_Video_to_CampusDirector__J8cIvlW_TWeicAGEcMMyiw?scrollToActionId=17960b3e)) into the Video Link field.

Paste your **BOX SHAREABLE** link only. \ Submissions must include a Box shareable link only. **DO NOT** submit YouTube, iCloud, Google Drive, or any other link type; they **WILL NOT** be accepted.

Enter any legacy information here. This section is completely optional and not required to complete registration or participate in recruitment.

Read through and acknowledge the PNM agreements.

Once you have completed your application, click "SUBMIT" to register for recruitment. Please note: this is an example, your button will appear blue because you are a PNM.

How To Log Back into your Application

Visit <https://mycampusdirector2.com/login/>

Click "Type to Select School"

Type "Auburn"

Click "Auburn University Panhellenic Sororities"

Click "Select"

Click "Click here if you already signed up with Auburn University"

Click "I accept" on the terms page.

Editing your Account Information

Select "Edit Account"

Make any changes needed and click “Save Changes”.

Please note: changes are not saved automatically. Select **“Save Changes”** at the bottom of the page to make sure your changes are applied.

Editing Your Uploads

If you need to update your photo or transcript, select “Edit Uploads” on the home page.

To upload your photo, click the upload button, locate the file you want to upload, and select it. Once the file is uploaded you should see it in the box below. If you are unhappy with the photo chosen, click the upload button again. Uploading a new photo replaces the one that is already there.

Click "Save" to save the changes to your Campus Director Account.

To upload your transcript, click on the “choose file” button (as seen in the image below), find the file you want to upload, and select it. If you need to submit a new file, click on the “choose file” button again.

Uploading a new file will replace your existing upload. Only your most recent file will be saved, so please make sure all required high school and college materials are included each time you upload.

If your PDF file is “too large,” there is an ability to reduce the file size. Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat, select “Reduce File Size” and save your document.

Once all changes have been made, select "Next Page" to confirm.
