C:Hub Accounts Page VS Accounts Panel

This guide explains why C:Hub’s Accounts Page and Accounts Panel both give full customer-account functionality but in different formats: a full dedicated page versus a slide-out panel that works from any site page. It shows how each can replace Shopify’s default, how to enable/disable either (or both) from the admin, and how to preview and edit them live in the theme editor, including panel-specific settings.

C:Hub Customer Accounts Page

You might be wondering what the difference is between the Accounts Page and the Accounts Panel. So we've broken down the difference between the two. Starting with the Accounts Panel. You're likely familiar with a dedicated page for customers to log into, and manage their accounts. This is the standard way that Shopify presents their accounts. You click on the account icon, log in, and you're taking to a customer account page. This is also the case with the C:Hub Customer Accounts Page. It's a dedicated page, that upgrades and enhances Shopifys default customer account page. When toggled on and installed, this is what the C:Hub app will replace your current account page with. Shown below is an example screenshot of our demo store, to demonstrate the customer account page.

The C:Hub Accounts Panel, is a condensed version of the dedicated page, in a slide out panel. That can be viewed from anywhere on your website. It can act as a full customer account replacement. It has all of the features of the dedicated page, simply in a slide out panel. This means that customers can easily slide the panel open when needed and close it again without ever leaving the page their on. You might be wondering if you need the accounts page on to use the accounts panel. No, the accounts panel can work completely independantly of the page. So you can toggle on either the page, or panel, or both. We give you the control to choose.

How to enable the page/panel

By default, when you install the C:Hub app, before you've even toggled it on, the account page, has already been setup and toggled on, ready to go. So when the app is toggled on in the theme, it will automatically replace the default, customer account page. However, this can be toggled off by simply clicking this 'Turn off Page' button on the C:Hub admin dashboard. You can also easily toggle on the Account Panel, by simply clicking on the 'Turn on Panel', button on the C:Hub admin dashboard. At anytime, you can toggle them on or off, however one does need to be on, so you can't turn them both off.

You'll also notice that by default, up the top right, the 'Account Page' is set as the default view when editing the C:Hub customer account.

However, if you click the 'Account Panel' toggle, next to 'Account Page', you'll see the Panel appears in the editor. Which means that you make changes, through the editor, and view those changes live on the account panel. You can easily switch back and forth between these to make sure you're happy with how everything looks in both the customer account page and customer account panel.

you'll also notice, that inside of the preview builder, on the left side, is a tab 'Panel Options', which allows you to edit all of the panel specific settings. Everything else is universal, however there are some settings specific to the panel, so we've added this handy tab for you to work with.
