Home Page Overview

This module will introduce us to Dell AIOps and the Home page. We will see how the Home page not only provides high level summary information for potential issues, but additional detailed information allowing the user to potentially take action without the need to drill down further into the Dell AIOps UI

Home Page Overview

The Home page provides the user with aggregated, high-level information about key aspects of the environment. It is intended to quickly inform the user about potential issues in the environment and provides some detailed information allowing the user to potentially take action.

Double-click on the **Dell AIOps** shortcut on the Desktop. The browser will automatically log into the Dell AIOps user-interface. The first thing that appears is the **"What's New in Dell AIOPs"** window.

Click **"VIEW ALL ENHANCEMENTS"** button to see a scrolling list of new features and release dates.

Click **"CLOSE"** when finished.

The top left tile on the Home page is the **Connectivity to Dell AIOps** tile. This provides a status of whether or not the systems are connected to Dell AIOps.

The top middle tile on the Home page is the **Contract Expiration** tile. This displays the number of systems with Support contracts that are Expired, Expiring within a month, Expiring within a quarter.

Tip! We can select the number to see a list of systems that meet the expiration criteria.

The top right tile on the Home page is the **Collectors** tile. This tile displays the number of Dell AIOps Collectors in the environment that have issues and have available updates.

The next tile we see on the Home page is called **System Health**. This tile categorizes all monitored systems into three ranges of health scores - Poor, Fair and Good.

**Capacity Approaching Full** - this tile shows a count of how many appliances, file systems, pools, clusters, and subscriptions may run out of space across all monitored systems within certain specified time periods.\ This example also shows that the Unity pool at risk of running out of space in 5 hours is **Disaster Recovery_Pool2**.

Tip! This tile has the ability to filter contents to show only Appliances, File Systems, Pools, Clusters, or subscriptions using the pull-down in the top right corner.

The **Performance Impacts** tile utilizes Dell AIOps time-correlated analytics to identify when there are performance impacts on a system due to a possible workload contention. It will also identify the existence of a performance anomaly. In this example, we see that Dell AIOps identifies two performance impacts on the Market Research system identified by the pink shaded areas. One of those performance impacts is accompanied by a performance anomaly identified by the blue shaded area.

The **Optics Approaching Failure** tile utilizes predictive analytics to identify when Connectrix or PowerEdge optics will fail. It also identifies optics that have already failed. By identifying optics approaching failure, Dell AIOps allows you to plan for optics replacements with minimal disruption to daily operations. Use the top right dropdown list on this tile to sort by All devices, Networking Systems, or Server systems.

The **Cybersecurity Risks** tile indicates a risk Level for the environment in which Cybersecurity is enabled. Potential risks are reported for PowerEdge, PowerMax, PowerProtect DD, and PowerStore systems, and AIOps will continue to expand risk assessments on additional platforms. The tile shows a breakdown of the number of systems in each risk category and provides a visual indication if there is a suspected cybersecurity ransomware incident.

**Entitlement Expiration** displays the number of systems with entitlements and systems licenses that: - Expired - Expire within 30 days - Expire within 90 days This tile shows content for PowerFlex and PowerScale Virtual Edition systems and manually deployed cloud-based systems.

The **System Alerts** tile shows the count of alerts from all systems in the environment that have occurred within the last 24 hours.

The **Reclaimable Storage** view provides a list of storage objects and virtual machines that may not be in use on monitored systems, potentially allowing space to be reclaimed. Content is displayed for Dell Unity, PowerMax and VMAX, PowerStore, PowerVault ME Series, and SC Series systems. Dell AIOps identifies both block and file objects that have had no front-end I/O activity in the last week as well as block objects that are not associated to any hosts. Dell AIOps also identifies block and file based virtual machines that have been shut down for at least the past week. The list the list intelligently filters out objects that are array-based replicas, since those replicase are not attached to hosts and do not have front-end I/O.

**Systems Needing Updates** tile. This tile identifies systems that have both Urgent and Recommended system code, firmware and management software updates available.

The **Service Requests** tile lists open Service Requests (SRs) for systems in Dell AIOps categorized by their status. Shown is the system name, model, service tag, and a brief description, followed by a link to view the SR on the Dell support portal.
