Adding a risk and sending an early warning

Contractors as well as the engineer add risks to the Risk Register when they become aware of any potential delay and can send early warnings about these risks.

Adding a risk

Go to the Risk Register by selecting "Risks" from the main menu. You now see a list of all risks for all contracts/packages your company has access to (C-COM provisions a risk register per contract/package)

To add a new risk click "add risk"

Complete the form, making sure to choose the contract/package the risk pertains to from the Location dropdown. When selecting the "Date when risk may occur" you may select today's date if you are unsure.

Click "submit risk..." once you're done to proceed to the confirmation page.

Leave the "Send early warning immediately..." checkbox ticked if you'd like to send an early warning about the risk you are adding.

Enter the password you log in with and click "confirm"

Sending an early warning about a risk

Your risk has been added and you now able to preview and send an early warning about the risk (if you ticked the "Send early warning immediately..." checkbox on the previous screen. You can safely navigate away from this page and send the warning later if you want to, otherwise click "preview attachment" to preview the early warning you are about to send

If you are satisfied with the early warning preview enter the password you log in with and click confirm to send the early warning.

Adding supporting attachments

You can update the risk at any time, click the "update attachments" button to add files of any kind...

Select a file, fill in the required fields (fields with bold red labels) and click "attach" to upload your file.

Attach as many files as you like one after another as explained and when you are done click "All done >>".

Adding comments

Comments are a great way to communicate - click in the Comments textbox and type out your comment.

Move your mouse over the icon at the bottom left of the comments textbox to see who will receive your comment via email.

Click "add comment" when you are done. Your comment is now emailed and also added to the item you commented on for anyone viewing it to see.

Change the status of a risk to closed

Click "change status to closed" at the top right of the risk overview page. Be sure to add a comment explaining why you are closing the risk.

Searching and exporting

Click "search/print/export" from the main Risks page.

Select the contract/package you want to retrieve risks for.

Set "Early warning" to "sent" if you want to return a list of all early warnings only and finally click "search".

Click "export xls" to export your results in excel format.
