2026-2027 Goal Planning

This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough for entering your 2026-2027 goals in Cornerstone and provides supervisors with guidance on reviewing and approving submitted goals. Follow these steps to efficiently create and manage goals throughout the evaluation cycle. Supervisor guidance begins on step 19.

Navigate to <https://uccs.csod.com/samldefault.aspx?ouid=12285>

Click the "MY GOALS" button on your Welcome Page

Click "Create"

Before entering your goal, note that the **Start Date** and **Due Date** automatically reflect the evaluation cycle. These dates should remain unchanged to ensure your goal auto populates on your annual review To begin, click the "Title" field to enter your goal title. This is the only field required to submit your goal successfully

Click "Description" if you'd like to add additional details and context to clarify your goal

Click "Add Tasks and Targets" to outline specific actions you'll take to achieve your goal and how success will be measured

Begin defining your task by clicking the "Description" field

You may decide to change the due date for a specific task to identify milestones or checkpoints throughout the evaluation cycle If you change the due date of an individual task, the due date of your overall goal will remain

Once your task has been identified, click "Targets" to define the measurable outcome or result that will indicate successful achievement

Begin defining your target by clicking "Select" to choose a target type to determine how progress will be measured

Next, click the "Start Value" field to note your baseline at the start of your goal For this example, I am starting with 0 professional development courses completed

Click the "Threshold" field to identify when you want your progress to begin updating For this example, I want my progress to begin updating when I complete 1 professional development course

Click the "Target" field to identify the value that would represent 100% completion For this example, my task will be complete once I complete 2 professional development courses

Click the "Stretch" field to identify a value that would represent a more ambitious outcome beyond your primary target For this example, the completion of 3 professional development courses would mark 150% completion

Once your values are identified, click "Add"

To add attachments to your goal, click "Browse"

Click "SMART Wizard" for a guided approach to goal development

Once completed, click "Submit" to send your goal to your supervisor for approval

**Supervisors**, to review and approve/deny the goals submitted by your direct reports, click the "MY GOALS" button on your Welcome Page

Click the "Pending approvals" tab

Select the goals you'd like to approve

Click "Approve"

You may add comments here, but comments are not required Click "Yes" to officially approve the goal(s)

To reference your direct reports' goals throughout the evaluation cycle, click the "Team goals" tab

Your overall team progress will be summarized at the top of the page Expand the tabs associated with each employee to view their specific goals
