STN - Updating Recurring Donation (Subscription) Billing Information

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to update recurring donation billing information in HubSpot. For security purposes, the donor needs to complete the updates themselves. The guide walks you through the process of sending a link to the donor to make the necessary changes.

For security purposes, the donor has to complete the updates to their credit card and billing information themselves so this process will walk you through how to send them a link to make the changes.

Go to your [Staff Dashboard](https://app.hubspot.com/reports-dashboard/43906074/view/11782727?dataSource=0-3&dataSourceName=DEAL&propertyName=hubspot_owner_id&propertyType=enumeration&operator=In&value=__hs__ME)

Scroll down to the bottom and under "My Donors" Click "Click here to view your full donor list"

Click the "Search name, phone, email addresses, or company" field and enter the name of the donor (or you can just review the list to find them. Note: The "My Donors" list filters out all contacts assigned to you.

Click on the donor's name when you find them.

Navigate to the right hand column of the person's contact record under the "Subscriptions" section. Find the recurring payment you need to edit and hover over it. Click "Preview" Note: "Recurring" Donations are listed as "Subscriptions" in HubSpot

Click "Actions"

Click "Update payment method"

Click "Send link"

This will send an email to the donor with a link for them to access their billing information and update it. For security purposes, the donor has to complete this update themselves. Note: if a transaction is declined or failed, it will display that next to the payment. The system sends this link to them automatically when this happens for them to verify and make updates.
