How to digitize MiniDV / Hi8 tapes
Instructions on how to digitize MiniDV / Hi8 tapes using camcorders.

Digitize your tape
Make sure to plug the correct cord for your media type into the 2nd Thunderbolt port on the back of the computer. MiniDV & Hi8 = Yellow Cord

Insert your tape to the Camcorder being used.
Connect the RCA cables to the camera being used.

Rewind tape if necessary, then press play on the camcorder...
For MiniDV, turn the red power button to "VHS." Use "Eject" to open and load cassette, then push until you hear a click to close. Use controls on the top of the camcorder to rewind and play video.
For Hi8, make sure the camcorder is turned on to "VTR" mode. Turn the red Power button to "Lock." Use "Eject" to open and load video. Push in and down to close. Use controls on the top of the camcorder to rewind and play video.

Open "**Blackmagic Media Express**" program

Click "**Log and Capture**" tab

...Click "**Capture**" on BlackMagic Media Express

Click "**Capture**" again to finish the transfer.

Close "Media Express"

Click "**Don't Save**"
You now have a **.mov** file saved on the computer desktop.
