How to Apply to Graduate at USI

If you may be eligible to graduate in the upcoming semester as deemed by the number of credit hours you've earned/are enrolled in, you will receive an automated message from the Registrar's Office. You must apply to graduate by the deadline listed in the email. If you have questions about your eligibility to graduate, contact the department of your major first to determine when you anticipate to complete all degree requirements.

To apply to graduate: Navigate to <https://portal.usi.edu/dashboard>,and then click "Student Apps"

Click "Self-Service"

Click "Students"

Click "Apply to Graduate"

Click "Current Program" and then click, "continue"

Select the appropriate semester for when you intend on completing graduation requirements.

Students who anticipate to complete all graduation requirements in: \-Spring, Summer 1, or Summer 2 are eligible to participate in the Spring commencement ceremony. \-Fall are eligible to participate in the Fall commencement ceremony.

Choose your initial decision about attending the graduation ceremony, and then click "Continue".

This is an initial indication of your intent to participate in the ceremony, and it is not a final commitment. Students will receive a formal commencement RSVP at a later time.

Select the name you wish to appear on your diploma, and then click "continue".

The name you select is what will appear on your diploma, in the commencement program, and what will be pronounced during the ceremony. If you are concerned that your name may be mispronounced, please email [registrar@usi.edu](mailto:registrar@usi.edu) an audio recording or phonetic spelling.

"Select" the correct address for where you'd like your diploma to be mailed to, and then click "Continue".

*Diplomas typically are available \~2 months after the term in which degree requirements are completed. When available, your diploma will automatically be mailed the address you provided here.*\*

Review your information and if accurate, click "Submit Request".

Review the commencement/ceremony information by clicking "<https://www.usi.edu/commencement>"

You have now applied to graduate!
