How to Download and Share Screen on Zoom

This guide covers the process of installing the Zoom desktop client and navigating screen-sharing features.

Zoom

Downloading Zoom on Windows

Open your web browser.

Navigate to [zoom.us/download](https://zoom.us/download)

Scroll to the download section and click "Download (64-bit)".

Open the downloaded Zoom installer.

If a User Account Control prompt appears, click "Yes" to allow the installation.

Once the installation is complete, click "Done".

Note: A Zoom account is not required to join SMARTBUILD meetings.

Screen Sharing on Windows

Enter your name in the name field.

Click "Join" to enter the meeting.

Click "Share" in the meeting toolbar at the bottom of the window.

Select the display you want to share.

Click "Share" to begin sharing your screen.

Open your web browser.

Navigate to [zoom.us/download](https://zoom.us/download)

Scroll to the download section and select the version for your Mac: click "Download (Apple Silicon)" for M-series Macs, or "Download (Intel)" for Intel-based Macs.

Open the downloaded Zoom installer.

Click "Continue" to begin the installation.

Click "Install".

Click "Install" to confirm.

When prompted, authenticate with your password or Touch ID to allow the installation.

Once the installation is complete, click "Close".

Click "Move to Trash" to remove the installer file.

Click "Done" to complete the setup.

Screen Sharing on macOS

Before joining your first Zoom meeting, macOS will prompt you to grant Zoom permission to access your microphone and camera.

Click "Share" in the meeting toolbar at the bottom of the window.

A macOS prompt will appear requesting permission for Zoom to record your screen.

In System Settings, locate Zoom and enable the toggle for screen recording.

When prompted, authenticate with your password or Touch ID to confirm the change.

Click "Quit & Reopen" to restart Zoom, then rejoin the meeting.

Enter your name in the name field.

Click "Join" to enter the meeting.

Click "Share" in the meeting toolbar at the bottom of the window.

Select the display you want to share, then click "Share".

Click "Share - Desktop 1" to begin sharing your screen.
