Adding Plan Eligibility

Got a medical plan that is only available in California? Full-time and part-time employees with different offerings? Eligibility questions are here to help! These questions will be asked at the beginning of the ALEX conversation along with the standard questions to determine which benefits employees should see.

Head to your plan that needs eligibility set up.

At the top of every plan, you will see an "Eligibility" section. Each plan is automatically available to all employees unless you state otherwise.

Click on this toggle to change to "This **is not** available to all employees"

Click "add an eligibility question"

Click this dropdown to add a pre-written question.

The pre-written eligibility questions we have available are:

Once you add in the eligibility question, you'll then select the response(s) that makes an employee eligible for the plan. In this case, we selected "Full time". When employees go through ALEX if they select they are Full-time, then they will see this plan. If an employee states they're "Part-time" or "Something else", they will not see this plan. This logic holds true for all plans that have an eligibility question and answer(s) selections.

If you would like to create a custom eligibility question that was not listed in the dropdown of pre-written questions, click the "Eligibility Questions" section in the menu.

Click "+ Create new question" at the very bottom.

Type into the "New Question" field to create your question.

Click into "New Choice" to create your answer choices.

Head to the plan(s) that you would like to add this question.

Following the same steps as earlier, select the plan "is not" available to all employees, click "add an eligibility question", and the custom question you just created will be shown at the bottom of the dropdown.

Select the choice that makes an employee eligible for the plan, and voila, you did it! Repeat these steps for any other plans that need eligibility.
