Adding a new cutting technology

Steps to create a new cutting technology in your ToolBox account, and connect it to rate tables and materials for use in quotes.

Click "Processes"

Here is the list of existing cutting technologies. You will have a default cutting technology called "Laser" and it will be a Flat type (sheet metal), as opposed to Rotary (tube cutting).

Click "Add Cutting Technology"

Click "Flat"

Click "Add"

Click "Update"

Click "Rate Tables"

By filtering the list of rate tables to show those linked to the new cutting technology, we can see that there aren't any yet.

Click "Add new rate table"

Click the "Name *" field.

Select the new cutting technology, so that the new rate table is assigned to the new one instead of the existing one.

Set a baser hourly rate. This hourly rate is used to charge for the use of your new cutting technology while it is cutting using this particular rate table (in this example, while cutting Mild Steel).

Set an etching speed.

Click "Add"

Select the newly created rate table to open it up.

Click "Add thickness"

Set the thickness first, web, cutting feed rate, and pierce time as a minimum.

Click "Add"

Click "Import"

You can use the "Download template" button to ensure the rates are uploaded in the correct format. However, in this example, we won't show importing of rates via CSV, so we'll close this popup.
