Connect Your Bank: Bank Reconciliation Setup

Learn how to connect your bank with the Squeegee app in order to sync and reconcile payments when needed.

Please note that the bank reconciliation feature is available on the **Advanced** and above plans only. You will be able to connect one bank account. On the **Ultimate** and above, you will be able to connect multiple accounts.\ We would recommend completing this process on a desktop device.

In order to connect your bank account with Squeegee, head to Settings > Invoicing & Payments > Connected Services.

You can then click into 'Connect Your Bank' and search for/select the banking provider you want to connect with.

Here, you should see the below notification. You can expand the drop down menu to see how GoCardless use this data. You will need to select 'Agree and Continue' in order to connect your bank successfully.

Enter the details required by your banking provider to locate the correct account. This usually includes your account number, sort code and email address but further details may be required.

Once your details have been entered, you may need to complete some form of authentication. Often, this will be in the form of a prompt sent to your mobile banking app, or an email/SMS notification.

You should see confirmation of the accounts being connected and can select the 'Continue' option to be redirected back to the Squeegee app.

Once redirected, you should see the below screen, which will allow you to 'Link payment account'. This will create a payment account in the Squeegee 'Payment Accounts' section so that you can go there and sync payments successfully.

Click 'Add to Squeegee' on the correct bank account connection. You may see that pots/savings accounts have also been added here - you may only need to link the main account, depending on what you plan to keep track of in Squeegee. You will see the account details here to differentiate. You can also 'Attach' the connection to an existing Payment Account.

In the process of creating the payment account, you will be able to change the name on the account - you can always change this at a later date if needed. Remember to click 'Save' here.

Finally, you can head to 'Payment Accounts' and should see your payment account there. You are now ready to sync with your bank and reconcile any payments.
