Partial Skips

Learn how to manage job scheduling exceptions by setting up custom partial skip options. This guide shows you how to add specific discount rules, charge percentages, and internal notes to ensure your invoices accurately reflect incomplete or modified service jobs.

Non-Discounted Partial Skips

To start setting up partial skips, head to Settings > Jobs & Scheduling > Partial Skip Options.

Click 'ADD OPTION' to add a new partial skip option.

First, you will need to set the name of the option in the 'Option Name' field.

Then, you can select a service using the Service drop down menu. This will essentially replace the service on the skipped job with this service - this is what will show on the invoice.

Finally, click 'SAVE' in the top right.

To see this in action, click into any occurrence and use the bottom right three dots option to 'Skip'.

You will see the option to 'Skip Full Appointment', or you can choose from your predefined partial skip options. Here we can see the 'Front Only' option that we added.

Once selected, we will need to select a skip reason.

Once actioned, you will see on the invoice that the original price and service has been replaced with the 'Front Only' service we set up on the partial skip, and will replace the price with the default price of that service.

Discounted Partial Skips

To now add a *discounted* partial skip, head back to Settings > Jobs & Scheduling > Partial Skip Options.

Click 'ADD OPTION'.

Again, click the 'Option Name' field to create the name of the partial skip.

Then inout the Service if required. Again, this will replace the service name in the finalised invoice. If you want the service name to stay the same, and just have the skip applied, you do not have to enter one here.

Click the 'Discount' field to add a discount to be applied to the service upon skip. The options shown will be as added in your Discounts section - if you want more options, you'll need to add these in 'Discounts'.

Click 'SAVE' to save the new partial skip option.

To see this in action, click into an occurrence and use the bottom right pink three dots to 'Skip'.

Choose your new discounted skip option.

Again, you will then need to choose your skip *reason*. If you have Skip Charges enabled, these won't be added to the job/invoice unless you have specified for the system to do so, as in 'Apply Skip Charges to Partial Skips' below.

If you click through to the invoice, you will see that this has changed the job service to the override service as in the Partial Skip Option, **and** applied that selected discount accordingly.

Apply Skip Charges to Partial Skips

Please note that since skip charges are only available on the Ultimate and above subscriptions, the next part will only be applicable to Ultimate users.

For this final option, head back to Settings > Jobs & Scheduling > Apply Skip Charges To Partial Skips > **enable**. This will apply the skip charge on the skip reason chosen as well as actioning the partial skip.

Click back into the 'Partial Skip Options' area to add this last partial skip option.

Click 'ADD OPTION'.

Add the name of the partial skip in the 'Option Name' field.

Select the desired service from the 'Service' drop down. This will replace the initial job service on the finalised invoice. This is not required if you want the service name to stay the same. You may also want to add a discount here using the 'Discount' field, but if you're applying a skip charge too, please note that this will apply the non-skipped service price, discount *and* the skip charge.

Finally, click 'SAVE' to save the option.

To see this in action, click into a job occurrence and use the bottom right pink three dots to 'Skip'.

Choose the new partial skip option from the list.

Choose your desired skip reason (and charge).

Finally, if you view the invoice, you will see that this has replaced the job service with the partial skip service and applied the skip charge. If you have a discount enabled on this partial skip, that would also be added here.
