Verifying Addresses: Further Guidance

Learn how to accurately input and pin customer locations using the Squeegee address lookup. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for searching, verifying, and manually adjusting address coordinates to ensure precise mapping, and how to workaround this if the address suggestion is not populated.

All customer addresses will need to be validated and pinned correctly to ensure that features such as Route Optimisation work as intended.

To verify a customer address, click into the 'Address' field in the new/edit customer form.

Type in the main part of the address you want to use to search for the location. The best options to use for this are the street number and name, along with the postcode if necessary, but you'll be able to see from the suggestions if a match has been found. Here, you are just searching for the pin location.

Any matching locations will show below - click on the correct one best matching your search. Don't worry too much about the text - you'll be able to edit this below. In the 'Search Address', you're just looking for a matching pin location.

If you cannot find the exact location matcher suggestion, simply remove some of the text from the search until you find an appropriate match. You will then be able to manually adjust the text on the address below.

Below, you can adjust the address **text** shown on this customer. This means you can use the relevant information to search for the pin, but then add in further details to complete your address description/text.

Once you're happy with your text entry, click 'SAVE'. This will take you to the map view so that you can pin the job location accordingly.

If you have clicked the green suggestion, you should see that the pin has already populated accordingly. If you need to adjust the pin location, simply click on the desired location on the map. You should place the pin **as close to the road as possible**. We do not recommend pinning the location on top of a building, as the route optimiser relies on road access to generate accurate routes.

Once you're happy with the pin, click the pink 'Pin Here' option.

This will take you back to the add/edit customer form. If you need to edit the pin at any point, simply click the pink pin icon.
