Adding Vaccines from WebIZ in EpiTrax

This training resource outlines the steps to add vaccination data to a case's EpiTrax record through the EpiTrax and WebIZ integration.

Click on the [[Clinical]] tab after loading the case's record in edit mode.

Scroll down to the bottom of the clinical tab to the *Vaccines* section.

Click "Show Vaccine Data From IIS"

**Tip!** IIS stands for immunization information systems of which KS WebIZ is Kansas's IIS.

The system will then show you any possible matches to patients in WebIZ. In the blue box you can see the patient data sent from EpiTrax under the **EpiTrax Person** section. If a patient is found in WebIZ it will display in the green box area under the **People Found in IIS** section.

In this example, you can see that the patient query did not find any matches in WebIZ.

Click "Back To Event" to return to the investigation form.

**Tip!** The patient name and date of birth must be a perfect match in order for you to add vaccine data from WebIZ. It may be beneficial to also access the WebIZ portal to perform a search for alternative spellings to identify vaccine records.

The following steps show what happens when you click on the **Show Vaccine Data from IIS** link on the clinical tab and a patient is found.

EpiTrax will tell you how many patients are potential matches to your EpiTrax case-patient.

Select [[Connect Person]] if the person in the green box is a match to your EpiTrax person.

After establishing the connection you will see a success message at the top and then any vaccine that is associated with the disease event you are in will display in the **IIS Immunizations** section.

**Alert!** If there are no vaccines for the case's disease condition the table will be blank and there will be no vaccines to add. Any other vaccinations will not display. For example, if you are working a measles case and connecting a patient it will only display their MMR or MMRV vaccines. They will not display non-measles vaccines such as influenza or Tdap vaccines.

Select the checkbox under **All** to auto select all rows of the vaccines listed.

Click [[Add & Update EpiTrax Vaccines]]. This will add the vaccine details from WebIZ into EpiTrax and associate to the disease condition.

After adding, you will see a success message.

Click [[Back To Event]] to return to the record to continue your investigation.

Once returning to the record the vaccines will now display in the **Vaccines** section.
