Customize Shower Designer Settings

Learn how to configure default settings for the shower designer. This guide explains how to find and change default settings for clamp positioning, junctions, glass type and thickness, or default measurements for different panel types. You’ll also learn how to filter settings by structure type or category, and how to apply site-wide or user-specific defaults.

You will require **''Site Admin''** permissions to follow the steps in this guide. If you believe you should have these permissions but you can't edit the settings mentioned, please contact your local OBE representative.

Settings Overview

Click on the **menu icon** and select **"Settings''**

If you are looking for a specific setting, toggle on **"Broad Search"** and enter key words into the "**Search"** field. - ***Broad Search*** *will search for matches within the setting description as well as the setting name.*

Alternatively, click the **filter icon** to filter the settings listed by the Structure Type they relate to. For example, select "**Shower"** to view all settings for the Shower Designer.

You can also filter by the setting "**Category"**. For example, select [[Hardware Positioning]] from the **"Category"** dropdown to view all hardware positioning settings for the shower designer.

To edit a setting, click on the row to select it. Most settings have two fields available: - **"Site Value"** = Use this field to set a default for all users with access to your site - **"User Value"** = Use this field to set a default for your user login only

Recommended Shower Settings

**Clamp Positioning** - Search settings for [[Clamp Positioning]] - This setting controls how clamps are positioned on new shower designs - Choose one of the following options from the dropdown: - **[[American]]** – One vertical edge clamp and one or two horizontal clamps (depending on fixed panel width). - [[Australian]] – Two vertical edge clamps, no horizontal clamps. - [[New Zealand]] – One vertical edge clamp and one bottom edge clamp. - [[Custom ]]– Uses your defined maximum height and width clamp settings (see below). **Custom Clamp Settings** If [[Custom ]]is selected for the **"Clamp Positioning"** setting, you can define your own clamp placement rules. Search for the following settings and enter your preferred values in the **"Site Value"** field: - **Max Height 0 Clamps** - **Max Height 1 Clamp** - **Max Height 2 Clamps** - **Max Height 3 Clamps** - **Max Height 4 Clamps** - **Max Width 0 Clamps** - **Max Width 1 Clamp** - **Max Width 2 Clamps** - **Max Width 3 Clamps** - **Max Width 4 Clamps** The above settings will determine the panel size thresholds for how many clamps are automatically applied.

**Junction Options** Search the settings screen for [[Junction]]. Update each of the below junction type settings as needed: - **Junction Square** - **Junction Angled** - **Junction Straight** These settings determine how panels should meet (i.e. mitre or overlap) for square, angled and straight junctions. The available options are shown in the diagram below.

**Other Recommended Settings** To adjust other shower default settings, click on the **filter icon** and select [[Shower]], then search for any of the following: - Transom Height - Door Width - Front Thickness - Overpanel Thickness - Return Thickness - Glass Type
