Editing a transcript using the Transcript Editor on EchoVideo.

Learn how to modify transcript cues and manage speaker labels within the transcript editor. This guide walks you through the steps to undo changes and save your updates as a new version.

Log in to **Moodle**, navigate to the module for which you want to access recordings, and click the **Lecture Capture block** on the right-hand side of the page.

This opens the **Class List** of recordings. Click on the **Media Icon** button and select **Edit Transcript** from the drop down menu.

Click the **Edit Transcript** button to enable editing.

Transcript Editing

Click the **text cue** you want to edit. You can place your cursor anywhere within the cue to add, remove, or modify the text. After making your changes, click outside the cue or select a different cue to save your edits and continue editing.

Speaker Settings

In some cases, you may also want to identify speakers in the transcript. In automatically generated transcripts, speakers are labelled by default as Speaker 0, Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and so on. To edit a speaker's name, click the speaker label next to any of that speaker's transcript cues.

This opens the **Edit Speakers** menu. Click the Edit Speaker (pencil) icon to add, edit, or delete a speaker.

Select the **Edit button** (pencil icon) to make your changes. When you have finished editing, click the tick icon to save the changes, then select Done.

Transcript Review

If you want to undo any of your changes, select the arrow which is the Undo Edit button.

Save Changes

Once your editing is completing, select "Save As New Version".

To create a new version of the transcript, click **Apply** or **Cancel** to keep the existing version of the transcript.
