How to process a Hire (Revise Employee Hire task)

Once a candidate has been moved to Ready for Hire from a job requisition, the HR Partner will receive a Revise Employee Hire task in their Workday inbox. This guide walks through how to complete the task and ensure all required information is entered correctly.

Workday

Once a candidate has been moved to "Ready For Hire", the HR Partner will receive a **Hire** task in their inbox. In the Hire task the HR Partner can update the Hire Reason or Hire Date, if this was delayed due to a Background Check or other circumstance.

The HR Partner will also confirm the appropriate information populates for the Hire in the **Position** section. The information in this section will populate the supervisory organization, Position (if applicable), Job Requisition hired from, Employee Type, Location and Work Space (if applicable).

Under the **Job Details** section the HR Partner will be able to confirm the Job Profile, Job Title and Business Title. Note: The Business Title will automatically populate with the Job Profile title. Update the Business Title as needed as this is what will display on their employee profile in Workday.

Time Type, Default and Location Weekly Hours will populate automatically. The Scheduled Weekly Hours will automatically calculate FTE.

The **Academic** section should be completed for all roles under the Academic Salary Plan (Academic AP, Faculty and Graduate Assistants). **IMPORTANT:** This step MUST BE to be completed for these roles to get paid. Once all sections have been reviewed and confirmed, you can select the Submit button to kick off the other related hire/onboarding tasks.
