Open Microsoft Teams and click on “Create team” in the top-right corner.
Choose "Create a team from scratch".
Enter the following:
Team name: (ex. Triton Alert Channel)
Description: (Optional)
Privacy: Select Privacy Settings.
Channel name: Also name it Triton Alert Channel.
Click Create to finalize.
Once created, navigate to your new team listed in Your teams and channels:
Click into the Channel “e.g. Triton Alert Channel” to open the Channel page.
Inside the channel, click the "..." (More Options) next to the channel name.
Select “Get email address.”
Copy the email address shown (e.g., <[email protected]>).
Log in to Triton Cloud.
Go to the User Management > Users section from the left menu.
Click the “Create User” icon to add a new user.
Input:
Name: Triton
Email: (Paste the Teams channel email)
Role: View Only
Create the user entry.
Navigate to Dashboard > Devices, then click on the desired device (e.g., Office_A_Test).
Click the Alerts tab to view the available alert types.
Toggle on the desired alerts (e.g., Vape, Tampering, Loitering) that you want to trigger Teams Channel notifications.
Click the settings gear icon next to the alert type to open Alert Settings.
From the Contact list, select the Teams Channel user (e.g., Triton <ea1906f9...@kr.teams.ms>).
Enable the Text-Based Email option for that user.
Click Save to apply the alert rule.
Tip: You can optionally copy the alert rule to additional devices using the “Copy This Rule to The Following Devices” dropdown at the bottom of the Alert Settings window.
Adding a Teams User to Get Alerts in Triton CloudEnsure the Triton Cloud device(s) are actively reporting alerts. Alerts such as air Loitering, Aggression, or Temperature will now email the Teams channel, appearing as messages in Triton Alert Channel.
Only public channels or enabled external posting permissions allow for email delivery. If issues occur, check your Teams admin settings.
You can create different Teams channels for different device groups or alert types.
