How to Create a Slack Channel for Triton ULTRA (On-Prem) Alerts

Step 1: Create a New Channel in Slack

  1. Open Slack and click on “Channels ” in the sidebar.

  2. Choose "Create Channel" under Create.

  3. Choose "Blank Channel" and click on Next

  4. Choose the following:

    1. Channel name: (ex. triton-alerts)

    2. Visibility: Public or Private based on your preference

    3. Click Create to finalize.

Step 2: Locate the Channel

  • Once created, navigate to your new channel listed in Channels:

  • Click into the Channel “e.g. Triton Alert Channel” to open the Channel page.

Step 3: Click on the "three dots" on the top right corner, and click on "Edit Settings"

  • Click on "Integrations" and choose "Send emails to this channel"

Step 4: Add the Email to SMTP Settings of Your ULTRA Sensor.

  1. Log in to the IP Address of the Sensor.

  2. Go to the Platform Integration > SMTP Settings.

  3. Click "Enable".

  4. Enter Your SMTP Settings (contact Triton support if you need help getting this):

    1. Email Provider: Choose your provider (if listed), or enter settings manually:

      For Gmail:

      For Outlook/Office365:

    2. Sender: Usually the same as your "User" email.

    3. Recipient: Enter the email address from Slack.

  5. Press Save.

  6. Press "Test" to verify functionality.

Step 5: Enable Alerts

  1. Navigate to Actions > Action Settings, then click "set" under email for the desired events (e.g., Vape, THC< Aggression, Tamper).

  2. Click the Save All button.

Step 6: Repeat for Additional Devices

  • Be sure to name each sensor under Device Settings > Device Info to be alerted to the correct sensor location.
