Configure Video Insight 7 Integration with Triton Cloud

Learn how to set up the Video Insight 7 integration with Triton Cloud. This guide will walk you through the necessary steps to connect and configure the integration. The integration allows users to bookmark cameras and trigger events in Video Insight 7 when an alert has been triggered in a Triton sensor.

Authenticate Video Insight 7 with Triton Cloud

Navigate to <https://app.tritonsensors.com/client/integration?current=video_insight_7>

Enter the domain/IP address of your video insight server. You do not need to enter the protocol here. Examples include demo.com, 192.272.17.1 etc.

Enter the port. If the domain doesn't have a port, enter 443 or 80 based on your protocol.

Choose the protocol of your Video Insight Server.

Enter the username and password you use to log in to your Video Insight Server.

Click "Login to Video Insight 7"

Make sure you get these messages on the bottom right of the site.

Get Camera ID for Bookmarking

Choose a camera that you want to integrate with in your Video Insight 7 Client.

Click "Properties"

Double-click here

Copy the Camera ID

Go back to Triton Cloud. And, paste it in the "Bookmark Camera ID" field that corresponds with the Triton Sensor that you want to integrate the copied Camera ID with.

Setup Event Rule in Video Insight 7

Navigate back to Video Insight 7 Client, and Click on Administration.

Click on "Rules"

Click here

We recommend that the name of the rule be based on event type + the triton device name. Example: Triton Boys Bathroom 11 THC Detection, etc.

Choose "Enhanced System Input"

Select the Triton Sensor you want the event to go off for.

Click here

Category: Type the name of the alert type that you want to set the rule for. It should be exactly how it shows in the Triton Cloud. For instance, you cannot set category as "thc". It has to be "THC"

You can choose any action that you prefer. We recommend the Live Alarm Window action. This will pop up a live window when an alert has been detected.

Choose the camera as the camera that you want to see in the live window. We recommend that you choose the Triton Sensor Camera.

Click here

Enter the message body you want to see when the action triggers.

Change the trigger wait time to what you prefer. We recommend <5.\ *Trigger Wait Time defines the time the event will wait to trigger again after the first trigger.*

Click here

Click on the Camera that you initially selected for the event

Copy its Camera ID.

Navigate back to Triton Cloud and paste it in the field that corresponds with the Triton Sensor ID

Click "Save"

Click "Run Test"

Click this button.

Choose the device you configured the event, bookmark for.

Choose the Event type you selected for the Category.

Click "Run Test"

Make sure the Action gets triggered.

Acknowledge the message as required.

Click here

Check the bookmarks

Confirm that the bookmark was created.

Integrating TKA (Custom Keywords)

Click on the device that you want to integrate the TKA with.

Click "Alerts"

Make sure Keyword Assist is enabled.

Click this button.

Copy this value.

Click this icon.

Click "Integrations"

Click on Behavior Dropdown

Make sure "Keyword Assist" is enabled.

You can follow the same procedure as before to create an event for "TKA"

Make sure the Category is the TKA value you copied earlier.

Configuring Evidence Room for VI7

Bookmark Camera IDs are used as the actual camera footage whereas the Event Camera IDs are used as the occupancy camera footage from the triton sensor stream recorded through VI7.

Click "Evidence Room"

Click the VMS dropdown

Click "Video Insight 7"

Highlighted part come from the "Bookmark Camera Id" field from the Integrations Page.

By default, we pull 2.5 mins of video before and 2.5 mins of video after the alert was triggered.

The highlighted part is where the alert occurred.

On the right side, you can see the Metrics at the time of the alert.

Filter alerts through the "Event" dropdown.

If there are no recordings stored in your VI7 system, you will see a message showing "No recordings available for the requested time range."
