How To Integrate Triton Cloud With Axis Camera Station

This guide provides a detailed step-by-step process for integrating a Triton Cloud Site into the Axis Camera Station Video Management System (VMS). - Port Forwarding must be set up for this integration to work (covered in the "Setting Up Port Forwarding" section below). - The Axis API allows only one rule per device.

Setting Up a New User in Windows 11

Open Windows 11 Settings and select ”Accounts”. Ensure that this step is performed on the machine where Axis Camera Station is installed and has Administrator privileges.

Select ”Other Users”, then ”Add Account”, followed by ”I don’t have this person’s sign-in information”, and finally ”Add a user without a Microsoft account”.

Enter the username ”tritonultra” and a secure password.

Complete the security questions.

Configuring Axis Camera Station

In Axis Camera Station, under the ”Configuration” tab, select ”User Permissions” under ”Security”, then select ”Add...”.

Scroll to the newly created account, select it, and click ”Add”.

Assign the role of ”Administrator” to the account and click ”Save”.

Under the ”Configuration” tab, select ”Action Rules” under ”Recording and Events” and select ”New...”, then ”Add...”.

Choose ”External HTTPS” as the trigger and click ”OK”.

Name the trigger using the following formatting: Triton Sensors <DEVICE ID>, where <DEVICE ID> is the Triton ULTRA device identifier found on Triton Cloud. For example, Triton Sensors 123456789012.

Setting Up Port Forwarding

Access your router’s configuration page. This is typically done by entering the router’s IP address into a web browser.

Locate the Port Forwarding section in your router’s settings. This may be under ”Advanced Settings”, ”NAT”, or ”Firewall”.

Create a new port forwarding rule: • **Service Name**: TritonACS • **External Port**: XXXX (This is the port you will use to access Axis Camera Station remotely. It can be any unused port number, but 443 is commonly used for HTTPS.) • **Internal IP Address**: The local IP address of the Windows machine running Axis Camera Station. • **Internal Port**: 55756 (This is the default port for Axis Camera Station.) • **Protocol**: TCP

Save the changes and restart your router if necessary.

Configuring Integration in Triton Cloud

Navigate to Integrations in your Triton Cloud account.

Select the Axis Camera Station integration.

Enter your Public IP, Port, username and password of the ”tritonultra” Windows Account that was created.

At the top of the integration page, select the metrics you would like to send to ACS, and click ”Save”.

Integration Testing

In the ACS, integration overview, select ”Run Test” and choose the Triton Device and metric you would like to test - then click ”Run Test”.

If the test is successful, you will see a confirmation message. If not, please use the Error Message to troubleshoot the issue and confim correct credentials, as well as ACS public IP information.
