How To Upload And Split Receipts In Expense Reports

Navigate to your Expense Report

Select the row you want to upload a receipt for.

Click "Receipt Management"

Click "Upload Receipt via Web App"

A new window will pop up and quickly disappear the first time you do this! You will need to select **Always allow pop-ups and redirects from...** in your browser settings (should appear in your address bar, otherwise can be changed in your Privacy and Security settings), then, click through the Receipt Management menu again to upload.

Once pop-ups are allowed, select the Upload Receipt options again, and then a second window will appear where you will upload the receipt. You can X out of the blue warning box.

The merchant name field will auto-populate from your sheet. Click the "Choose File" button in the "Select File" field.

You will then select the file from your computer that you want to upload. It can be a .pdf, image file, or anything really. Click "Upload" next.

Once the upload is successful, a new pop-up window will appear that will say "**Receipt uploaded successfully! You may now close this window."** Click OK in the window, then X out of the Upload Receipt window to return to your sheet.

Once the upload is complete, and you X out of the windows, you will see that the receipt has now been linked to the row, and the file has been uploaded to your receipts folder automatically.

Next, to split a transaction between multiple categories, select a new row...

... then click "Receipt Management" again...

and then Click "Split Receipt Between Categories"

Another window will pop up again, just like with the upload receipt function. You can X out of the blue warning box again.

Select at least two categories that you want to split the receipt between.

Click "Next →"

Next, enter in the total $ tax amount from your receipt.

Click "Next →"

Next, enter the **subtotal** amount of all the items on this receipt that belong to the listed category.

Click "Next →"

Repeat the same step for the next category. The pop-up window will tell you each step of the way what balance you have remaining to account for. \ \ In this example, since this is the last category, I will enter the remaining total (but make sure it ties out with the remaining items on your receipt for this category).

Click "Next →"

Once the split is complete, a new pop-up window will appear that will say "**Receipts split successfully! You may now close this window."** Click OK in the window, then X out of the Split Receipt window to return to your sheet.

Now you will see that the receipt has been split between the two categories we selected, with the applicable tax calculated and added to the subtotals for each. It will also copy any of the data from the other cells in that row that you have already populated (date, name, restaurant, and receipt).

You can still edit/change all of these after you split the transactions too if changes need to be made.

That's it! Just repeat for each receipt, and don't forget to mark the Receipt column as **Missing** or **Recurring** if you don't have a receipt (as applicable).
