How to Start and Stop a Securly Classroom Session

Learn how to initiate a managed classroom session with custom time durations and access plans. This guide also covers how to end your active session once your instruction is complete.

Class Selection

Navigate to [https://securly.com](https://org12231.deviceconsole.securly.com/classroom/#/classes/main/list/gridview/1) Login to Classroom with Sign in with Google. You will see your courses on your Classes Dashboard

Click 'Start' on the class card.

You can set the end session for a specific time or a duration:

Click "Duration"

Click "Select an access plan" if desired. Access plans are where you can create lists of sites to block or allow during your class sessions. You can choose which access plan(s) to use when running a class. You can apply access plans to your whole class,\ or apply different plans to groups or individual students. You should set up your Access Plan ahead of time using the Access Plans on the left navigation.

Set the 'Limit tabs to' value of maximum number of tabs you want students to have open while in class.

Under "Options" you can set additional settings for the session

Click "Start Session"

At the top of your Classroom you will see some tools

You can also customize your settings:

Click "Stop Class" to manually end a session.
