Module Creation

In your MyCanvas course, select **Modules** from the course navigation menu.

Select **+ Module** to create a new module. *This is where you will add your Badge.*

Enter a name for the module and select **Add Module**. *This module is **only** for your CanCred badge, so give it a descriptive name that relates to the badge.*

Add CanCred Tool

Scroll down to your new module and select the **+** icon on the right side of the module banner to add content.

Select **External Tool** from the drop-down menu, then select **CanCred** from the list.

Select **Add Item** in the bottom right of the pop-up.

Publish the CanCred External Tool that you just added to the module.

Tool Authorization

Select the **CanCred** link to open the tool settings.

Select **Manage settings and badge publication.**

Select **Authorize**. *You must authorize the CanCred tool to access the course for the auto-badging to work.*

Select **Authorize** again.

Close the successful authorization tab to return to MyCanvas.

Select **Reload page.**

Badge Release Configuration

Select **Add course badge** to select a badge to auto-release in this course. *Badge Applications are selected if students are expected to apply for a badge, NOT for auto-release.*

Find and select the badge you want to auto-release. *In this example we will choose the CanCred Creator Badge.*

Select **Edit** to set the auto-release settings.

Configure auto-release criteria by: 1. Check off **Issued when final score is above** 2. Enter the minimum score that learners need to achieve to be issued the badge 3. Check off **Issued if enrolment status is active** *Note: All assignments must receive a grade before the badge will issue.*

Once your release settings have been configured, enter a subject for your email and a message for the badge recipient. *Note: When students earn the badge, they will receive an email with directions for how to access and share it. This is the email that you are drafting in these settings.*

Select **Save**.

The Badge is now ready for auto-issuing to students. *Note: The badge issuing process happens overnight; so, if a student completes the criteria for the badge on Wednesday, it will be issued on Thursday.*
