Claim Your UCSD Triton Student System Account

This guide is for returning Extended Studies students who have studied with us prior to Sept 21, 2026. Follow this guide to verify your identity and claim your Triton Student System (TSS) account—your UC San Diego student portal. These steps show you how to link your TSS account to an external account (Google, LinkedIn, or Microsoft) or a Guest Account. The TSS student portal allows you to manage your profile and access your university applications.

Three Sign In Options

There are three options to Sign into your UCSD (TSS) Student Portal. Option 1 - Sign In (Using Your Own Social Account)

Start with the Claim Account web page: <https://student-sis.ucsd.edu/externalstudentaccountclaim/>

Enter your First Name

Enter your Last Name

Enter the Date of Birth you provided when you created your account. If you did not provide one, enter 01/01/1900 and contact Student Services at (858) 534-3400 to update your record.

Enter your Student Number/PID (aka Triton Student Number) or Last Four SSN

Select your College/Division from the dropdown list

Click Submit

(Option 1) - Select your preferred Sign in method (Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or Microsoft)

Select or enter your account information (this example shows a Google Sign In)

Click Continue

Your account should now be linked to your UCSD (TSS) Student Portal.

You're now logged into your TSS Student Portal!

Option 2 - Sign In (Create Guest Acct)

Follow these steps to Sign In via a UC San Diego Guest Login you create

Navigate to [https://student-sis.ucsd.edu/externalstudentaccountclaim/](https://student-sis-qa.ucsd.edu/externalstudentaccountclaim/)

Enter your First Name

Enter Last Name

Enter the Date of Birth you provided when you created your account. If you did not provide one, enter 01/01/1900 and contact Student Services at (858) 534-3400 to update your record.

Enter your (Triton) Student Number/PID or Last Four SSN

Select the "Division of Extended Studies" option.

Click "Submit"

(Option 2) Click UCSD Guest Login

UCSD Guest Account Creation

Click "Create Account"

Enter First Name

Enter Last Name

Enter your "Email Address"

Click Create.

Follow instructions to complete the account activation process

Log into your personal email account and click the URL provided

UCSD Guest Account Activation

Enter a strong password that meet Password compliance rules

Re-enter the same password

Click Activate Account.

Your account is activated - Click "Continue"

UCSD Guest Account Sign-In

Enter your email and password and "Sign In." Please note there is sometimes a delay of up to 24 hours before the account creation is finalized and you are able to access your account.

Your account should now be linked to your UCSD (TSS) Student Portal.
