A pay statement will have much more information than what we need for the Wage Checker. In the sample pay statement below, the information we'll use is highlighted. The information is required by California Labor Law for piece-rate workers.

The specific figures we'll use in the Wage Checker are highlighted below. 1. Units - 315 2. Rate - $2.00 3. Gross Pay - $630.00 4. Total hours worked this period - 40.00

Tap on the Unmio app icon on your device.

The Unmio mobile app launches.

The app loads.

Use the number keypad to enter the number.

Tap the "Verify PIN" button.

Click on the Services tab on the bottom menu to view the available Farmworker Digital Services. Here is where we'll have the Work Journal, Wage Map, Wage Checker tools.

Click on the Mapa de Sueldos card to launch the Wage Checker tool.

Click the Revisar Mi Sueldo button. This starts the process to review and compare your salary.

Click the Fruta button. This selects fruit as the category of work you did.

Scroll down to view more fruit options. This reveals additional specific crops like Toronja.

Click the Toronja button. This selects grapefruit as the specific crop you worked with.

Click the Podar button. This specifies pruning as the activity you performed.

Click the Por Pieza button. This selects piece-rate pay as your payment method.

Click the Cubeta button. This selects bucket as the unit of measurement for your piece-rate pay.

Click in the input field to open number keypad.

The amount we will enter from the pay statement. Rate - $2.00

Enter 2.00 in the rate input field. This sets the rate to 2.00 USD per bucket.

Scroll down and select one of the four options for hours worked in the pay period. For this version of the app, the values are hardcoded as follows: 1. Por Dia - 8 hrs 2. Por Semana - 40 hrs 3. Cada Dos Semanas - 80 hrs 4. Mensual - 160 h In a future release, we will allow the user to enter a custom value.

The amount we will enter from the pay statement. Total hours worked - 40.00

Click the Por Semana button. This selects weekly as the frequency of your pay.

Click in the input field to open the number keypad.

The amount we will enter from the pay statement. Gross pay - $63.00

Type 630 in the earnings input field. This sets your weekly earnings to 630.00 USD.

Scroll down to access the location section. This reveals the postal code input field.

The amount we will enter from the pay statement. Zip Code - 93030

Type 93030 in the ZIP/Postal field. Entering a valid ZIP code ensures the salary comparison is accurate for your local region.

Click the Revisar Mi Sueldo button. This submits your salary details to generate the comparison report.

The worker report is generated. It indicates that the calculated hourly rate of $15.75 is below the local average of $16.59 and below the minimum wage of $16.90 in Ventura County, CA.

Analyze the salary comparison results. The report indicates that the calculated hourly rate of $15.75 is below the local average of $16.59 and below the minimum wage of $16.90 in Ventura County, CA.
